At LBSF the big squid are in the news. The landing has 2 boats on line every night to fish them. Last week there were over 200 total caught ( up to 40 pounds)The landing has the the big jigs needed to fish them safely.
Also the pot o gold halibut derby boat the native sun has some good drifts despite rain outs. San pedro bait Co. has had a constant supply of mixed size sardeen and plenty of live squid. Hot set up has been a shot of 20/25 floro along with a 1/0 to 3/0 good quality hook and enough weight to keep it on the bottom.
Top 3 halibut this week are Dave Kiel of Granada Hills 23.10lb Emerson Holden of Long Beach 12.05lb. Jerry N. of Garden Grove 5.3.

The Tide Change will be running giant squid trips beginning Wednesday evening. The trips will depart at 6pm and return at midnight. Cost is $35 and there is $3 per squid cleaning fee.
