Sadly the trout stock that was slated for the 5th was pushed back a week, so currently there is still no trout action at Lake Skinner. The good news is that we are supposed to be stocked with 1,500 pounds of trout on the 12th with a second stock of 1,500 coming the following week. Striper action continued to improve this past week as reports of early morning and late afternoon boils provided some top water action for striper fishermen. Most of the larger striper are coming in off of artificial baits, with shad colored baits working the best. Smaller striper are hitting chicken liver and cut anchovies. Top striper action is located at the Inlet, Ramp #2 Area and the East End. Top fish this past week was a 22.4 lbs striper caught by Hunter Hough of Palm Springs. Catfish remained strong this past week as well as many fishermen reported catching them all over the lake, but mostly by boat according to reports. South Shore and the Inlet were the main hot spots. Catfish were coming in off of mackerel, chicken liver and sardines. Bass also had a fair showing this past week, but with cooler temps the have begun to bite a little deeper, however some top water action was reported along the South Shore in the morning. Dark plastics still working the best for the Largemouth.

These are the following fish ratings:

Bass: Good
Bluegill: Fair
Carp: Poor
Catfish: Excellent
Crappie: Poor
Striper: Excellent
Trout: Poor
