Lake Nacimiento sat near 65% of its storage capacity, and fishing was about as good as it gets. Bass anglers had great success targeting spotted bass using a mix of topwater baits, swimbaits, and other reaction lures, while finesse techniques such as drop shots, Senkos, and darter head jigs paired with grubs also produced well. Productive colors included natural tones like greens and browns, along with baitfish patterns, though most presentations were getting bites. White bass action was strong, especially for anglers throwing smaller walking topwater lures and spoons. Crappie anglers found fish holding around 15 feet deep, with mini jigs and small live minnows working best, while catfish remained consistent and bit well on cut baits and dip bait.
