Castaic dropped slightly to 75 percent of capacity, and anglers reported fair fishing. Trout anglers soaked dough baits throughout the lake with minijigs, and spoons also producing a few rainbows. Bass have been holding in 10 to 40 feet of water, and anglers used finesse baits like drop shot, Carolina rigs, and shaky heads to target them. Smaller offerings in green pumpkin, bait fish, and brown did the trick. Striper anglers trolled umbrella rigs and flies for a few fish. Cut baits also worked to land some line sides. Catfish ate dip bait and garlic scented nightcrawlers.
