Cooler temperatures and reduced boat traffic contributed to better fishing. Bass anglers have been doing well using drop shot, Texas rigs, and Senkos near the weeds and cattails. Creature baits have also been effective when flipped into holes and pockets in the weeds and reeds. Topwater frogs and spinnerbaits took some quality bass as well. Catfish anglers reported an improving bite, and the whisker fish have been eating dip bait, chicken liver, and cut frozen sardines or anchovies. The crappie bite is on fire, and most of the crappie have been found near submerged structure like rocky shoreline and submerged brush. They have been inhaling small live minnows, and Trout On Baits and Get Bent Baits also continue to be local favorites for the panfish.
