BASS
Bass anglers had no complaints about DVL this week. Reports of upwards of 30 fish released have been prevalent and the action is on the shoreline and off rental boats! Texas rigged worms in oxblood, prism shad, and morning dawn, fat Ikas in watermelon or green pumpkin, and Carolina rigged brush hogs have been reported as the best choices in plastics fished on the points. DVL is always a non stop drop shot lake. There have been some spinner bait reports from afternoon fishermen and some folks have reported catching bass trolling jointed Rapalas along the dams. For those targeting big bass swimbaits, crankbaits and jerkbaits have accounted for some in the morning. Richard R. Laughery of Perris caught a 3.10 lb largemouth from the western shoreline using a spinner bait. Nick Vestal of Lake Elsinore caught a 4 lb bass fishing a Rapala also from the shoreline.

TROUT
There were no reports of trout being caught this week. Fishing nightcrawlers near the dams has yielded results in the past. Most trout have been caught between 20 and 30 feet. Michael Wolf of Redondo Beach caught his two biggest trout weighing near 5 pounds fishing with nightcrawlers on the west dam.

STRIPER
No stiriper reports this week. There were a few striper caught last week on swimbaits. Russell Nievar of Anza caught a 20 pound striper fishing with a swimbait. John Balderson of Sage caught a 20 pound striper fishing with a swimbait. Jeorge Delgado of Temecula caught a 18 pound striper fishing with swimbaits. Eddie Martinez of Fontana caught a 12.5 pound striper fishing with a fish taco lure along the east dam.

CATFISH
The cats are biting from the shore and boats. Several anglers reported catches over 5 lbs. Mackerel and anchovies have been the most reported baits, but shrimp and chicken liver has accounted for a few reports. The most reported areas have been the saddle dam, Rawson cove, near the quarry, and along the east dam. Elias Lopez of Fontana caught a 2.87 lb catfish using Powerbait in the 3rd cove of the shore line. Van Palmer of Riverside caught a 7.6 lb catfish with chicken liver near the wave attenuator.

PANFISH
Panfish are still biting. Large catches of Blue gill, red ear sunfish, and crappie are common for the persistent angler. Most anglers are catching them along the dams with mini jigs, mealworms, or nightcrawlers. Neal and Miller Handy caught their bluegill using tried-and-true meal worms.
