Quality trout from 4 to 6 pounds continue to hit the scales on Big Bear Lake! Bait anglers from shore or boat, as well as, trollers are all getting in on the action. The bait anglers are getting good results with PowerBait and nightcrawlers fished off the bottom or suspended at 20 feet from Juniper Pt. to the dam along the North Shore. Trollers fishing leadcore at 4 colors with Needlefish, Rapalas, and Bouyants in fire tiger, and cooper finishes in tow are on the fish too. Water temperatures and oxygen levels are good. Temperatures range from 58 degrees at the dam to 63 degrees at Juniper Pt. with plenty of oxygen top to bottom.
More large trout will be stocked this coming weekend for "Fishin of $50K". One tagged fish will be worth $50,000.00. See below for info on how to enter. Largemouth Bass continue to hit spinners and spoons along the shoreline, crappie are active in the East end, and the catfish bite should go off soon.
Father and son Ray and Elias Ramirez of Big Bear Lake had a great day on the water. Ray landed a 6.33 lb. trout while fishing with PowerBait at Juniper Pt., while his son Elias caught his 5.57 lb. rainbow on a trip with Curt Dills of Fish Big Bear Charter Service. Elias was trolling a fire tiger Rapala at three and half colors outside Boulder Bay.
