Hopefully next week we will have another trout stocking. Anglers have still been able to catch a few trout here and there, mainly off Power-baits and smaller trout lures. The Largemouth bite has slowly started to pick up, with most catches coming off a plastic worm on the drop-shot or Carolina-rig. Morning dawn and oxblood Robo worms have been working best. Some deeper diving reaction baits have been gaining some attention. A few anglers have reported being able to catch some striper off the troll. Umbrella rigs and shad imitation swimbaits have been working the best. Some bites have come from jigging a spoon down deep off main points. The bait bite is also getting better with more and more stripers being caught. Sardines, anchovies, and lug worms have been the go-to bait. Catfish have been also biting here and there while anglers are soaking cut baits. The Crappie have been biting decent as of late and a lot of anglers have managed a limit. Wax and meal worms have worked fine, with smaller crappie swimbaits and spoons also working. The lower lake has been good fishing from reports, with most fish coming off spoons and ice jigs in deeper water. A lot of the bites have been off a boat or kayak.
