As the water has cooled, the Corbina moved out to deeper waters to lay eggs and then retreat to bays and estuaries until around May.

In the meantime, the Halibut and Flatfish bite has picked up aggressively, especially on good tides/timings. When the large bait-balls (usually anchovies) are in the shallows, it's been non-stop using Lucky Craft 110's. Flatfish just twice the length of the lure are hitting non-stop and hitting on 1/4 of casts at times with occasional keepers up to 34" inches. The window is very short. Maybe 1-1.5 hours at best, and as the baitfish move and dissipate, the bite dies out.

On the Stripers, I have moved from spear to more to rod and reel as the weather has cooled, and have noticed that the Striped Bass runs have actually increased (though they happen so fast...just a few seconds). I have taken a couple by spear and several by rod and reel using the same Lucky Craft 110's. The fish are mostly between 26" to 30".
