Weather has finally been manageable lately with not too much wind to worry about. With that being said, fishing has been tough the past couple weeks. Anglers using live shad have been having productive days still, with some quality fish in the mix. The bait has been a lot harder to find and boils have slowed as well. Shad imitation lures have also been working such as flukes and some other reaction baits. The drop shot has also been rewarding anglers with some fish, mainly on shad colored plastics. We had our first trout stocking of the season on Thursday and there were many limits caught. It’s starting to become tougher to catch the trout, but most bites are coming on Power bait or a garlic scented nightcrawler. There has been some anglers that have been managing a few on the troll or bye hitting main lake points. The bait bite has remained steady in deeper water on sardines or anchovies. There has also been the occasional catfish caught while soaking cut baits. The bluegill and crappie have slowed down, with the lower lagoon being your best bet.
