The shad have almost completely gone deep and most of the fish are following. With that said, anglers are reporting some bass caught on a variety of finesse plastics on the dropshot or Carolina rig. Some Texas rigged plastics are also working. Early in the morning and later in the evening you can throw a spoon or deep diving jerk bait and get into some action. The striper bite has been quite productive for some fellow anglers. Most fish reported have come from deeper water on cut bait or a worm. The bluegill is still biting but it's been tougher to locate them lately. Not many people have been targeting catfish lately but with the right stink bait, you can get a few to show for. Everyone is anticipating a trout stocking this week seeing that we are on the DFG trout stocking schedule. Once we get stocked it will create better opportunity to stick a swimbait fish or catch some trout on light tackle.
