Cats are on the bite at the lake. Ramp # 2 area is the best from shore with stocker size cats coming in off cut mackerel. Bigger cats coming in near the dam and inlet off chicken liver. Striper coming in mostly off the of anchovies and are schooling around the inlet, marina and the east end early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Bass are hitting nightcrawlers and dark plastics off shaded points along the south shore and the east end.

Rate of action over the past week:

Bass: Fair Avg. Size: 2-3 lbs.
Bluegill: Fair Avg. Size: 1 lbs.
Carp: Fair Avg. Size: 6-10 lbs.
Catfish: Excellent Avg. Size: 2-6 lbs.
Crappie: Poor
Striper: Good Avg. Size: 1.5 - 3 lbs.
Trout: Poor

The catfish are in a frenzy this week! Shore fisherman and boating anglers are reporting specimens up to 14 lbs on a variety of bait from nightcrawlers to chicken livers.
