Best Bait: Shrimp, Mackerel, Garlic Night Crawlers
Dates covered on this fishing report: 6/24/18 – 7/3/18
Weather conditions: Hot days (approx. 90-105˚) and cool nights (approx. 60-65˚).
We’ve had many clear sunny days, along with some windy days.
Water Temperature: 70˚, Water Level: 100% normal, Clarity: Clear to about 4 feet from shore.
Last stock (1,000 pounds) Catfish: Thursday, 6/28/18
Next stock (1,000 pounds) Catfish: Thursday, 7/5/18
Hatchery: Superior Catfish Inc, Arvin, CA (Catfish)
Average size: Most 1.5 - 2 pounds. Several caught were in the 8 – 10range.
Top Spots of the Week: North Shore and Sandy Point.
CATCHES OF THE WEEK:
Nathan Ramirez, from Helendale, caught a nice 5 fish limit with the biggest coming in at 8.5lbs! using Chicken liver blood on the North Shore.
Mauricio Paredez, 14 years old, from Pomona caught his first fish using night crawlers on the Grassy Bank.
DJ, From Pomona, caught a 8.5 and 11lb catfish on the North Shore using shrimp and night crawlers.
Donald Shults, from Hesperia, caught a nice 9lb catfish using shrimp on the NorthShore
Brian Frandson, from Apple Valley, caught a monster 13.8lb & 5lb catfish using the M&M combo on North Shore
Enrique Lares, from Hesperia, caught a 10.5lb catfish using Mackerel on the North Shore.
Marc Grinkin, from Victorville, caught a 10lb & 9lb catfish using shrimp on North Shore
Alicia Wheat, from San Bernardino, caught a beautiful 8.5lb catfish using shrimp also on North Shore.
