Free Fishing Day in the State of California September 2nd, 2017. Park Permit still required. The water temperature is 76-77 degrees. Striper: Slow Action: Stripers have slowed down this past week due to the heat. A few anglers have still caught a few over by the dam, using mackerels and shad. Blue Gill: Slow Action: The bait of choice would be red worm, meal worms and of course wax worms. Catfish: Still plenty of Catfish still to be caught hitting on chicken livers, mackerels, and anchovies over in near Launch Ramp 2 and Catfish Alley. Large Mouth: Medium Action: Try catching them on purple and green robo worms, meal worms, wax worms and night crawlers over by the North Shore and the middle of the lake. Trout: No Action. Carp: Medium Action: Always a fun way to learn how to fish!

The water temperature is 74 degrees. Last stock of Catfish was Friday, August 18', 2017. Striper: Medium Action: Anglers have caught Stripers over at the Dam where the inlet is flowing, right by the buoys, hitting on cut or whole mackerels, anchovies, shad and plastics. The water temperature is 75-76 degrees. Striper: Medium Action: Doinog well over by the inlet area Trolling with umbrella rigs, and night crawlers. Blue Gill: Slow Action: Hitting on live crickets, night crawlers, meal worms and wax worms, over in the east bay area. Catfish: High Actin: Cats have been hitting on chicken livers, anchovies, mackerel and garlic shrimp. The normal size right now is 8-12 pounders over by Launch Ramp 2 and throughout the lake.
