Capt Jeff Bunde checked in from the Island Spirit out of Ventura Sportfishing to report that they had some decent fishing today, we did not get any of the 40 lb class Yellowtail today. But we did get 25 Yellowtail in the 25 to 35 lb class, they were biting the flylined mackeral really well today. No line shy fish today we were using the heavy gear with 40 - 60 lb line, 8/0 hooks and 12-14 inch mackeral as bait. There were no fish on the surface irons today, come on out and get one of these trophies and be sure to bring your heavy gear.
