This week has been an interesting week. The level of the lake is up holding steady and the temps are cooling a little heading into the 4th, The lake was Blue Stoned on the 30th so fishing has been a little slower. Make sure to bring some sunscreen and plenty of water.
Striper: We have seen moderate action from the striper, most of it coming from the inlet and near the buoy line. Anchovies have been hitting well as well as smaller top water lures. Morning has been the best bite, but we have seen the baby bass starting to boil around the lake at all times of the day, which means they are getting chased. So be on the lookout for more action.
Large Mouth: The bite has held steady. Look for them along the coves of the South Shore and towards the East end. Most fishers have had luck with plastic worms, preferably Senko and Robo. The Blue Stoning has slowed them a little, but there have been some smaller sizes caught near Boat Launch 2. rro«t: There has been no reported action from trout.
Blue Gi//: The bite has been great. Look towards Boat Launch 2 and the surrounding coves, also the east end. We have also heard of some coves near the dam starting up. The best bait for them has been crickets, meal worms, small jigs, and chunks of night crawlers.
Catfish: We have been receiving regular stocks of catfish, the next should fall on the bthe They seem to be sticking to an every other week schedule. The bite has been doing very well. They have been hitting over by Launch Ramp 2 and the Inlet. Also try the right hand side of the buoy line. Chicken livers are still a favorite for them.
Carp: As always we have plenty of carp in the lake and they come in a variety of sizes. They have been seen in all parts of the lake, especially on the South side. Your best bet for them is to use dough balls with your own scents mixed in.
