The entire combined sportfishing fleet converged on the same area today in search of Yellowtail and White Seabass. This includes every private skiff from Santa Barbara to Channel Islands Harbor. “A sight to see” said many anglers departing our boats this afternoon. Obviously, this was a major factor as to why they didn’t bite for most. Not for a lack of effort, that’s for sure. We will be back at it tomorrow in search of game fish but lucky for us we have a solid backup fishery. Like today, our anglers won’t go home empty handed. Counts were great for bottom fish like Reds and some huge Whitefish! We have live squid on all our boats and available to purchase from our bait receivers here at the landing. We have open spots fishing both Sunday and Monday so give us a call or book online before this holiday weekend is over! Today’s Fish Count: 10 boats and 248 anglers 1,581 Assorted Rockfish, 245 Ocean Whitefish, 164 Lingcod, 1 Cabezon, 5 Perch, 32 Sculpin, 32 Sheephead, 9 Calico Bass, 1 Sand Bass, 1 Barracuda, 2 Yellowtail and 2 White Seabass.
