Today’s report consists of more great Rockfish and Lingcod counts but White Seabass were the talk of the day. Seabass will always peak interest and with several caught the last few days it’s time to finally start considering the question. Could this be the start of our big Seabass bite? Maybe too soon to tell but it is that time of year when we start to see these fish caught. If this is a "normal" season we will continue to have these flurries of White Seabass until something triggers them to go on a full out feeding frenzy. Usually it’s a healthy squid bed that triggers the bite but until recently it has been hard to find. However, recently we have seen signs of squid at the islands and some boats have been able to catch enough to use for bait. Hopefully this trend continues and we will be able to finally kick off the start to our big game season!
Today’s Fish Count: 8 boats and 146 anglers
