The bass and catfish bite was excellent this week. Shad are boiling all around the marina and Mohawk Bay making the bass hit virtually any kind of shad bait. Floating live worms off the bottom and sinking mackerel has been consistently bringing in catfish from 1 – 3lbs around Drake Cove especially. Many bluegill were caught off small jigs and cut nightcrawlers off the shore by the launch ramp. For boaters, Jack Rabbit Flats seemed to produce the bigger bass. The crappie have moved off the shallow banks and are mostly suspended in about 15ft of water making it easier to get them on the troll again.

Bass: Excellent
Bluegill: Fair
Catfish: Good
Crappie: Fair
