Prado Regional Park to host third trout derby of season


(San Bernardino, CA) Prado Regional Park, Chino, plays host for the third trout derby of the season Saturday, February 6th.

Top prize catches have ranged between 8 lb. 7 oz. to over 10 lb.. during the season. The derby at Yucaipa saw nearly 650 anglers participating. Prado is hoping to welcome an equally good crowd for their derby challenge.

Winners are based upon the fisherman catching the largest trout in the fastest time. Cash or valuable merchandise prizes are awarded to up to 50 of the top contenders. Anglers of all ages are eligible to compete.

Park gates open at 6 a.m.; derby begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. Derby registration is $15 and $10 parking. A state fishing license is required to participate and may be purchased at the park.
