Some of the best September weather in years has equated to an excellent bite for trollers and drifters hitting the deeper water near boiler cove or mid-lake. The Flasher/Crawler combo at 3 to 5 colors has been best for trolling and Orange, Salmon Peach or Chunky Cheese PB has been best for those drifting. Lots of quality 2 to 3lb Alpers are being caught but the biggest of the week was a 4lb 7oz rainbow caught by Ryan Tarango of Rancho Cucamonga, CA on Orange PB.

Folks are still spotting lots and lots of fish at the inlets but the bite has really slowed down there for some reason. We're still waiting on the Browns to show up but some of the fly fishers did excellent on Brookies to 13", which have apparently started to stage in the shallower water in a pre-spawn pattern. After the brookies move in, the Browns are sure to follow not long after.

The lake level is steadily dropping but it\'s still plenty high to access all areas of the lake. No problems for private boaters either as the launch ramp is still good to go.
