On December 29th, the lake was stocked with 1,500 lbs. of trout. Hot spots for trout were Half Moon, Jump Off, Hidden Bay, and North Shore. We recommend using natural-colored mini jigs, gold or silver Kastmasters, and garlic power bait. The lake will be stocked again on January 12th, with 1,500lb. of trout. Catfish bite has been very consistent the past few weeks, with anglers catching their limits off boats and Boulder Bay.

Starting January 2023, each month you will have the opportunity to win two fishing permits, and a full day motor boat. To enter weigh in your largest caught fish at the boat dock (dock scale must be used by city staff). Prizes will be given away each month in the following categories, Bass, Catfish, and Trout.

THE YOUTH FISHING DERBY WILL BE FEBRUARY 4, 2023. A CAMPOUT WILL BE HOSTED THE NIGHT BEFORE THE DERBY ON FEBRUARY 3, 2023, AND YOU CAN REGISTER ON POWAY.ORG/CLASSES.  A TROUT FISHING SEMINAR WILL BE LED BY OUR RANGERS FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS OF THE CAMPOUT ALONG WITH A FREE PIZZA DINNER
