Welcome to August!!!
Time for one more big push to get through the crazy busy summer season, before all the kiddos start to go back to school – Hopefully in Seat!! Not unlike past years, the fishing at Silver Lake isn’t as good as we would like it to be, but in my opinion – which doesn’t really matter, isn’t all that bad. Things are hard lately, as DFW hasn’t stocked a thing in roughly a month, but we are trying to help supplement that shortfall by purchasing fish from Desert Springs in Oregon about every two to three weeks. What does this mean for the general angler – well, if you are lucky enough to catch a Desert Springs Rainbow, you are over the moon excited with your 2 to 5 pounder you hooked, but it also means that there are a lot more anglers that are not catching anything. One thing to remember is that at least we are open and you are able to get out there and fish. Slow down, enjoy the view, be nice to your neighbors fishing next to you, pick up a random piece of trash, here and there, and take a deep breathe and enjoy the beauty of the Eastern Sierras. Anglers that did do well the past week saw the most action on Berkley Products – Pinch Crawlers, Garlic Rainbow Power Bait, Tequila Sunrise Power Bait and Gulp Chunky Cheese, just to name a few.
Great time was had by all this past Thursday evening, as the Baroo Brothers Band played some great music for all to enjoy. We will do it again this coming Tuesday (8/10) when String Theory out of Bishop will join us for some good campfire music with a Potluck to be enjoyed. Bring a dish to share around 4:30pm and music will start around 5pm on Tuesday. Come on out and enjoy a great evening at Silver Lake RV Park Picnic Area.

Happy Fishing and We Will see You at The Lake!!
